Launch “Family Constructive Dispute Resolution (CDR) Centre” to Enhance Harmonious Family and Interpersonal Relationships

The Society rendered professional Mediation Casework Service to help resolve high-conflict disputes among divorced couples, parent-and-children, carers of elderlies in families as well as colleagues. We organised community and youth peace navigator training, training for professional mediators, mediation education and legal consultation programmes to facilitate different people of the society to apply mediation in their daily life and to help the community

resolve conflicts. In order to enhance the public’s awareness and recognition

of the concept of mediation, we widely used social and mass media in promotion so as to enhance mutual respect, rebuild trust, as well as to prevent and manage interpersonal conflicts despite diversities.

Develop the Pilot Project for  Divorced and Non-residing Fathers

The Society launched the Pilot Project on Supporting Divorced and Non- residing Fathers in collaborating with Prof. Shirley Hung, Department Head of the Social Work Department of the Hong Kong Baptist University. Adopting the Narrative Practice Approach, Prof. Hung ran therapeutic group for divorced father, and provided supervision group and consultation service to our professional staff. A practice research has been commenced with a view to developing an indigenous working model to facilitate divorced fathers to handle emotions derived from divorce, rebuild post-divorce life and learn to cooperate with the other parents (ex-spouse) to practise co-parenting for the best interest of their children. Several animation videos have been produced for promotion of co-parenting concept.

Facilitate Children from Divorced Families to Keep Stable Connection with Their Non-residing Parents through Various Online Platforms under the Pandemic

In view of the pandemic, we continued to provide Supervised Parent-child Contact Service through various online platforms to facilitate children from divorced families to keep stable connection and contacts with their non- residing parents. The Society received kind assistance from the Joyance Community Health Consultant Company Limited to provide free online speech therapy to the children with special needs. Children were also eligible for professional assessment and therapeutic services at home during the pandemic. The online services were well recognised by the service users and received positive feedback. The Zonta Club of Victoria also continuously donated anti-epidemic materials to support children in need.
