Digitalise Financial Education Programmes

With the introduction of Information and Communication Technology to develop the “e$mart Money Management Workshop” for primary students, The Financial Education Centre has gained valuable experience to incorporate digital element in our financial education programmes. The digitalised “Get $et Go! Money Management Workshop” simulated social games, which allowed secondary students to reflect on the pros and cons of the digital transaction in cashless payment. We also launched the Online Financial Literacy Prize Quiz for secondary and tertiary students to arouse young people's attention towards online financial management and enhance their awareness of financial management in the digital world. In the future, the Centre will proactively respond to the popularity of electronic transaction of our next generation to reduce potential risk of poor financial management caused by money disconnection brought by digital era.

Support Women as Carers and Launch Services for Multi-generational Families under the Pandemic

To address the needs of women carers, Women and Family Enhancement Centre organised “The Bridge to Competence Project” which aimed at strengthening women’s mental health, extending their social networks, and advocating a “Women Friendly” community to arouse the awareness and concern towards women as carers in the families. We also launched the “Revamp Life, Revive Health - Mental Health Enhancement and Wellness Project for Women” funded by Sir Robert Ho Tung Charitable Fund. To enhance the support to multi-generational families, we collaborated with the Lee Kum Kee Family Foundation and the Hong Kong Shue Yan University to develop the second phase of “Education and Support Project for Multi-generational Families”. Affected by the pandemic, most of the programmes were delivered online to facilitate women’s and their families’ participation.

Expand Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and Organise Professional Certificate Courses

EAP was tailor-made for employees’ and their family members’ better wellbeing by enhancing their competence in coping with challenges effectively. For those who were critically affected by the pandemic and related crisis, Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) were arranged. EAP was promoted through various platforms to corporates and organisations. To enhance the physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing of employees in the new normal, we offered online wellness workshops such as “From COVID to Comfort”, “Cook Healthier@home”, “COVID-19 from Chinese Medicine Perspective” and “Acupuncture for employees” workshops. In supporting helping professions, we invited Dr. Liu Ting, a well-known Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) trainer, to deliver the “When Anxiety meets Emotionally Focused Therapy” webinar to around 100 staff members.
