Awarded “Manpower Developer” by the ERB

The Society has been awarded “Manpower Developer” by the ERB since 2016, reflecting its outstanding achievement in staff development and training.

Conduct Various Training and Workshops for Staff

The Society had well utilised the Social Welfare Development Fund to support internal and external training for staff. A total of 92 internal training programmes were organised for staff of different grades during the year, with topics covering various theories and skills of professional intervention. We have received very encouraging feedback from participants, with an average rating of 4.97 out of a 6-point scale and an objective achievement rating of 95.84 percent, demonstrating the successful realisation of our training objectives and the high quality of the training programmes. The Society organised a series of training to meet the emergent challenges of service development, such as “Advance Care Planning Project”, “Preparing Students for School Resumption”, Peer Learning and Practice Group (PLP) on “Enhancing Caring Functions in Multi-generational Families”, and a workshop on “Facilitating Changes for Families” etc.

Organise Staff Orientation Programmes

Staff orientation programmes were organised on a regular basis, enhancing new colleagues’ understanding of the Society’s history, mission, vision, systems and services, and fostering their sense of belonging to the Society. Three different service-specific induction courses were organised for newly-recruited social workers to cultivate their understanding of the “family-centric” perspective and equip them with knowledge and skills in service delivery. Training programmes were also organised for management staff to enhance their leadership skills.
