Parent-child Connect Specialised Co-parenting Support Centre

There is a great impact to individuals and families, especially the children, when the couples separated/divorced. We have launched various services to assist those families, including “Family Resource Centre” for single parent families in 1988, “Divorced Mediation Service” in 1997, “Co-parenting Service” in 2013, and the pilot the Children Contact Service via the “Parent-child Contact Centre*” in 2016 (The Centre had been transformed to Parent-child Connect Specialised Co-parenting Support Centre in September 2019).

In order to assist children from separated/divorced families to rebuild and maintain healthy communication and contact with their parents, with the support from the Lotteries Fund, the Society launched the Pilot Project on Children Contact Service on 21 September, 2016. The service had been first transformed and expanded to be the Parent-child Connect Specialised Co-parenting Support Centre in Hong Kong with regular funding support from the Social Welfare Department in Sept 2019 to offer one-stop co-parenting and parent-child contact services with aims at promoting “Child-focused Co-parenting” to assist separated / divorced parents to develop amiable and rational communication and learn to be co-parents for the best interest of their children. Besides, the Centre also hopes to facilitate children to keep stable connection and enjoy love and care from both parents so as to develop resilience to face critical changes in family environment and grow up healthy in both parents’ homes.
