Family Month 2026 Theme: “Family Belonging — From Misalignment to Shared Resonance.”

Every year in May, we celebrate “Family Month”, aimed to raise public’s awareness and appreciation of family wellbeing and value. This year, the theme will be “Family Belonging — From Misalignment to Shared Resonance.” It symbolises a family living under the same roof, where each member has their own communication rhythm. Sometimes, during conversations, expectations may not match due to the inability to truly understand one another, which weakens emotional connections and can lead to feelings of loneliness—slowly causing the family to lose its proper function.

Between mismatched rhythms, we learn to adjust through understanding—finding resonance within the family—so that home becomes the happiest refuge and safe harbour.

The two key focal activities for “Family Month” include the release of “Hong Kong Family Wellbeing Index 2026” on 5 May and “Homeland 2026” from 16 to 17 May.
