Getting ready for marriage

My fiancée is stressed about having a perfect wedding, what can I do to help her?

Woman often has more longings for wedding with expectation for a perfect ceremony in order to make the day a precious memory. However, the bride may feel stressed and anxious for missing out some parts during the preparation.

As a fiancé, we believe you do not want your partner to be stressed and hope to bear part of her pressure out of your love and care. You can first explore the source of pressure of your partner, such as her own requirements for a perfect wedding, expectation from her family members and friends, wedding expenses and various tasks for follow up. Then, you can express your understanding, emotional support and appreciation. With communication, you can discuss the division of labour to let your partner to be more relieved.

However, you may feel distressed and discouraged sometimes. For example, your partner may easily be irritated in communication due to great pressure. Also, your effort of coordination and accommodation may not be recognised by her. Therefore, you should also take care of your own physical and emotional health. You can try to understand your partner’s pressure comes from the hectic tasks and self-demands but not against your performance in preparing the wedding. When she feels your support, she can be gradually relaxed.
