本會於1984年開展寄養服務，安排因家庭問題而缺乏父母或家人照顧的兒童，暫時入住寄養家庭，讓他們得享溫暖的家庭生活及適當的照顧，待其家庭情況改善後回家團聚。
根據家福會於2018-19年度進行的「香港寄養兒童的精神健康情況和需要研究報告」，指出寄養兒童的家庭背景比較複雜，當中40.2% 的受訪寄養兒童在心理、學習、社交都出現較多的狀況及需要。
家福會寄養服務於今年推出「寄住愛‧築福家庭」計劃，透過由鄭秀文、陸駿光、談善言主演的電影《流水落花》慈善首映籌募經費，所籌得的善款，扣除成本後全數用於家福會的寄養服務，為有需要的寄養兒童提供學習及訓練機會，也為寄養兒童及原生家庭實現小小心願。

In recent years, the mental health of adolescents in Hong Kong has received significant attention. The Hong Kong Family Welfare Society (HKFWS) Youth Service "Power T.A.G. — Boosting Inner Strength Project" conducted the research report on "Exploration Studies on Key Factors Affecting Adolescent Mental Health in Hong Kong" during the 2023-2024 academic year and released the research findings on 8th October.
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of HKFWS, the Society will hold the "Healthy Family - Creating Happy Memories" event on 3 November, 2024 (Sunday) at D‧PARK in Tsuen Wan. Families will challenge the Guinness World Records by assembling over a thousand yoga resistance bands to form the Chinese character of "Family". We hope to promote the importance of family and encourage families to prioritize their physical and mental health in their busy lives, as well as to raise awareness for “family health”, which is one of the 6 domains of the Hong Kong Family Wellbeing Index.
